I have completed my Can-Fit Pro Personal Training Specialist certification, along with specialized courses in Advanced Supplementation and Program Design. Additionally, I hold the Master Personal Trainer certification from the American Sports and Fitness Association, as well as CPR/AED certification. With 17 years of experience as an active trainer, I have successfully guided hundreds of individuals in achieving their fitness goals, including professional athletes, police officers, paramedics, and members of the RCMP.
At the age of 16, I earned my boxing license and achieved an impressive 7-0 record as an amateur boxer. I trained for four years in Muay Thai kickboxing under world-class fighter and trainer Guru Gi-Sam Lal. Furthermore, I have received training in strongman and powerlifting techniques from Vance Primatera for 4 years. My expertise in bodybuilding has been honed through training with IFBB professionals and high-level CPA competitors.
My availability is based on a first-come, first-served system. I have several clients with established time slots, but I do offer flexibility in the morning and afternoon for new appointments.
Houle Fitness aims to provide flexibility to accommodate various schedules. The earliest booking time is 8 am, and the latest session offered starts at 7 pm.
The Houle Fitness training approach stands out due to Adam’s focus on practical application and meticulous attention to detail, ensuring that each client understands the techniques and effectively integrates them into their daily routines for better results and long-term success.
Training primarily takes place at Athletic Kulture, located at 154 Reid Drive in Barrie ON. We do provide in-home personal training services on a per request and evaluation basis – serving Barrie and surrounding area (Innisfil, Oro-Medonte, Essa, Angus, Hawkstone, Horseshoe Valley and more!)
To achieve your fitness goals effectively and see the best results, our recommendation is committing to training sessions at least 2-3 times a week. Consistency is key to progress and reaching your goals and desired fitness level. Together, we can work towards your goals and make each session count!
Houle Fitness offers personalized workout programs for when you’re not training with us, so you can stay on track and continue making progress even on your own time. It’s a great way to support your fitness journey beyond our sessions!
Absolutely! Our program includes comprehensive diet guidance that features personalized modifications to your existing diet, tailored custom diet plans, precise macronutrient count prescriptions, and vitamin hydration recommendations to help you achieve your fitness goals effectively.
Houle Fitness currently doesn’t offer virtual training sessions. All training is done in person at the facility where we train our clients or at your home if you have an in-home gym with the necessary equipment.
We do! While we primarily offer training out of Athletic Kulture (In Barrie, ON), based on an assessment of equipment and location, this is determined at the time of consultation.
Our personal training and nutritional programs are customized based on your goals and how often you train. Houle Fitness tracks everything on a shared spreadsheet with supporting check-ins, so you can easily see your progress and any adjustments made to your workout plans.

I am a 27 y/o Paramedic. Staying fit and heathy is important aspect of my profession. After several years of long hours, day/night shift cycle, and poor eating habits on the road, i had a noticeable change in my fitness and body composition.
I found Adam on houlefitness.com and we met shortly after. Together, we created realistic goals in a short 4 month time frame. Adam designed a custom meal plan to match my body type and chaotic/unpredictable schedule and a fantastic exercise regiment to go with it. Halfway through our plan i had dropped from 178lbs to 168lbs (normal, healthy weight for me) with greatly increased muscle strength, size, and endurance.
Adam has a great understanding of anatomy and physiology along with years of experience in physical training to help anyone reach their goals. All the while helping you stay positive, keeping you motivated and comfortable.

This is Houle Fitness client Connie, Connie is a vegan athlete who has traveled the world for multiple fitness related events such as triathlons and karate tournaments She is hard working and committed to achieving anything she puts her mind to.
6 years ago, Connie was in an accident that resulted in an acquired brain injury. Because of that, her motor skills are affected, she needs a cane to walk, she has poor balance, and poor coordination. Speech, hearing, and vision are also affected. Because of these injuries and the impairment it has created, she hadn’t exercised in almost 6 years.
On day one, when I wasn’t fully aware of the extent of her injuries and I attempted to have her ride the bike to warm up. It wouldn’t move. Hard as she tried, she couldn’t coordinate the movement to get even 1 full revolution. This was quite defeating for Connie. Being the first time on a bike in 6 years, we moved on to discover she is quite capable of performing weight lifting exercises. In the following weeks, we moved forward with weight training slowly progressing from 3 sets of 12 with 1:30 breaks to 4 sets of 15 with 1 minute breaks, now to 45 second breaks.
Over this time, we identified a problem with her knee that has created an imbalance, and it was preventing us from doing lower body exercises. We rehabbed her injury with unilateral exercises until her knee was in better shape to perform bilaterally. We have progressed to inducing weighted sled push and pull at the beginning of every exercise which has helped with her coordination and strength to be able to now walk long distances with without a cane.
We’ve tidied up her vegan diet, added in a little more protein, and , now she has got her blood pressure under control for the first time in 6 years.
During the past few months, we have been revisiting the bike again and again.
Since Connie bought an exercise bike… You can hear the excitement in her voice when speaking to me last! She makes me proud. Working with Connie has been a pleasure, and I look forward to seeing her achieve her goal of completing a triathlon in the future!
